A business person who understands tech and is fluent in numbers — building in aviation, fintech and e-commerce, after a decade inside telecoms, banking and advisory.

Start-ups taught me speed; institutions taught me why things survive. The interesting work sits between the two — taking an idea with real physics behind it and giving it a commercial spine: pricing, partnerships, unit economics, regulators, the first hundred customers.

These days that means seaplanes and aviation in Southeast Asia. Before that it meant a blockchain fintech, a retail platform, and mobile financial services across emerging markets.

The pitch deck is usually fine. What's missing is the model underneath it: how the money actually arrives, what it costs to serve the hundredth customer, which partner unlocks the market, and what the regulator will say in month nine.

I work with a small number of teams at a time — mostly early-stage in Southeast Asia, mostly where hardware, regulation or physical operations make the business harder than software alone. Not-for-profit engagements welcome.

Flying isn't the hobby. It's where the business ideas come from.

A private pilot's licence changes how you read a map. You stop seeing countries and start seeing the gaps — the islands four hours by road and forty minutes by air, the resorts with a jetty and no runway, the routes that never get flown because nobody did the economics.

That's the whole thesis behind seaplanes in Southeast Asia, and it started in a cockpit rather than a spreadsheet.
